“What is Man?” Sept. 2009 Tyrannus Bible Academy Report

DaVinci's Vitruvian ManOn Friday, September 25th, we held our monthly Tyrannus Bible Academy meeting on the theme: “What is man?”

John Giesbrecht, Andrew Christopher, and Ernest Chan prepared the first part of the evening presentation. We studied the influences of modernism and post-modernism and the various types of humanism that had arose from the beginning of the 20th century up until now. The Powerpoint slides will be added soon.

David Jumeau gave his lecture based upon Genesis 1:26-31: “Man Is Created in God’s Image”. Man, from God’s point of view, is not just physical, but a living soul. Man is a spiritual being that shares God’s attributes of holiness, moral judgment, creativity, and divine love. Man also has a mission to be a caretaker of this world. God also confessed his love to man: “You are very good.” We are very precious in the sight of God. Click on the link to download the lecture. (Genesis 1:26-31 in pdf format)

Philip Wong, Véronique, and Rob shared their testimonies.

Our next Bible Academy will be held on October 30th, 2009 with the theme of marriage. May God bless this event and that we may be edified with God’s word.
