The UBF ministry was founded in 1961 in South Korea as a student movement by Sarah Barry and Pastor Samuel Lee. From its humble beginnings, the ministry has grown into an international missionary movement that has chapters in approximately 96 countries. The ministry is supported by lay people serving world campus evangelism where students take an active role in the ministry. UBF also has participated in establishing a medical center in Uganda, and raises funds to build churches in various parts of the world for worship and the study of the Bible.
For more information you can see our international headquarters website and our history here.
The Montreal ministry was established in 1991 and consists of families and lay people with the heart of sharing the gospel to students as well as to accomodate families, and professionals.
Our fundamental beliefs stem from the Nicene Creed as outlined below:
The following explains our values as a church community.
Bible studies are the main focus on our ministry. We believe that the Bible is divinely inspired and valuable for our spiritual growth.
Our Bible study sessions are generally based off a question / answer format (anyone can access the question sheets on our Bible Study Resources page) in via a casual setting.
1:1 is a personal approach where a mentor would tailor their student's spiritual needs whether they are a beginner, or if they are seeking to grow spiritually in their relationship with God.
Group studies benefit from having different feedback from other Christian followers.
Our Bible studies are intended to equip the believer to be able to teach others. Discipleship involves in Christian leadership by studying key passages regarding Chiristian doctrine (what and why we believe) as well as discovering one's spiritual gifts in participation in various ministries (music, evangelization, preaching, children and service).
